I recently had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Associate Professor Slawomir Wycislak from Jagiellonian University. He has a rare combination of 20 years academic research in complex systems plus hands-on experience deploying digital solutions across multinationals.

His new book "Real-Time Visibility in Supply Chain Management" cuts straight to what we all know but rarely admit: most visibility projects fail because they create expensive monitoring, not actionable intelligence.

I've seen countless companies invest heavily in visibility platforms only to realise they're paying for expensive dashboards that show problems after they've already cascaded downstream.

The gap between "seeing" disruptions and actually preventing them is where most digital transformations stall.

His perspective on preparing organisations - not just technology for transformation is exactly what supply chain leaders need to hear right now.
